LEGACY YEARBOOK STAFF - 

What to do if you’re out getting interviews or photos on campus and an actual emergency occurs or a drill occurs.

● Fire drill or actual fire emergency - 

Locate the nearest fire exit and walk out with whatever class is close by. If there isn’t a class exiting near you, cross the pavement until you can stand on grass. Send a message to Mrs. Nichols on SportsYou and if you’re near another class, check in with that teacher. Stay put until the ALL CLEAR goes out and if you’re not with a class, Mrs. Nichols will send the ALL CLEAR over SportsYou.

● Lockout drill or actual lockout - 

Go to the nearest classroom and show your press pass and tell the teacher that you were out getting interviews or photos. The teacher should take you inside their classroom with the rest of their students. Send a message to Mrs. Nichols on SportsYou with the classroom number that you’re in and the teacher’s name. Stay put until the lockout is lifted. **If you happen to be out at one of the athletic fields when a lockout happens, stay with the coaches and their team. They should all come back inside the school as well. Follow the rest of the procedure.

● Lockdown drill or actual lockdown - 

Go to the nearest classroom, the same as a lockout and tell them the situation. Send Mrs. Nichols a message on SportsYou. Stay with that class until the lockdown is lifted. Follow whatever instructions that teacher gives you.

● Tornado drill or actual tornado threat - 

Follow the classes to the inner hallways and sit with a class. Send Mrs. Nichols a message through SportsYou to let her know what hallway you’re in and that you’re okay.
