PRIVATE lESSONS

All East View Patrioit Band students are strongly encouraged to enroll in private lessons. GISD has a district wide program that provides a high quality enhancement to classroom instruction. All teachers are all specialists on their instruments. Most of our teachers are professional musicians in the Austin area and have advanced degrees in the performance of their instruments. All teachers are screened and background checked by GISD. Private lessons are the best way for an individual student to improve their performance on their instrument and are highly encouraged. Weekly lessons are at least 30 minutes in length. Lessons may take place during band classes, but may need to happen before or after school depending on teacher availability.

Financial Assistance

We understand that there may be a need for financial assistance for your student to participate in the private lesson program. Financial assistance is reserved for the families/students with extenuating personal and/or financial circumstances for whom participating in private lessons would cause undue hardship. This program does not provide free lessons, but shares the cost with the family. Your initial enrollment paper forms included an application for private lessons scholarship.
