In the course Sports, Politics, and Society in the Middle East, we explored the different impactful aspects of sports, the extent to which institutions influence sports politics, the use of sports as soft power, the concept of sports washing, the significance of mega-sporting events and the politics behind them, as well as the ideologies of sport policy-making. The course delves deeper into the realities of sport beyond the game and matches, such as the decision processes, and policy-making factors that impact the sport, game, and the players.
