At George Fox, we approach faculty development as vocational formation. Our office supports faculty in their formation as teachers, learners, scholars, and servants. To do this well, we prioritize small group learning communities that focus on listening to each other, ourselves, and God.
The Center has emerged from a desire for faculty to connect more across divisions, programs, and departments. These connections enhance our experiences as teachers so we can come alongside students and help them thrive. Pursuing "relationship-based education" requires our faculty community to be firmly grounded in relationships.
The Center is one way to generate, organize, and sustain some of these meaningful connections. Above all, the Center is a living platform we will shape over time to reflect our community's needs and hopes. Whether you are looking for teaching inspiration, a way to connect with colleagues through a themed learning community, or clarity on funding processes, we hope you can find it here!
