While faculty in their third through fifth years have more familiarity with the university and how to be effective in the classroom, they need ongoing support to prepare for their tenure and/or promotion reviews. For this learning community, we offer a variety of self-selected coaching groups, peer mentoring, and teaching/learning development.
Options include:
Teaching Consultation (one-on-one teaching consultations to help you to develop as a reflective teacher-learner)
Peer Teaching Exchange (peer observation opportunity focused on professional growth and cross-departmental connection)
Book study (e.g., teaching/learning, spiritual formation, etc.)
Writing group (e.g., six-year/tenure review, scholarship, etc.)
Coaching circle (e.g., fac/admin, grant writing, etc.)
Affinity group (e.g., Enneagram, spiritual disciplines, etc.)
Notes:
Faculty development will provide funding for books and/or light refreshments. Please let us know how we can support and resource you!
Faculty are encouraged to pursue one teaching-learning training or workshop per year (e.g., Circle large group gathering, Fall Teaching Kick-Off, Teaching-Learning Microgrant, etc.).
