PLANT SMALL RNA PURIFICATION KIT
Product Description
XENOPURE™ Total RNA Purification Kit is a product that quickly and conveniently isolates high-quality total RNA (260/280 ratio>1.9) larger than 200 nt from various biological specimens, such as animal and plant cells, tissues, whole blood and bacteria.
In the process of sample lysis, XENOSEPA™-TR, which is a phenol-lysis buffer optimized for diverse samples, is used; and contaminants such as proteins and lipids are minimized by phase separation after adding chloroform. Moreover, extraction of high-purity RNA from plant samples containing large quantity of polyphenol, polysaccharide and lipid is possible.
In the process of RNA extraction, genomic DNA can be effectively removed by using spin-column which allows omission of DNase I enzyme treatment. The extracted RNA can be applied to various molecular biology and genetics experiments including northern blot, mRNA purification, in vitro translation, RT-PCR, real time PCR, and NGS.
High Yields with high purity
Efficient enrichment of small RNA
Excellent at removing gDNA
Simultaneous extraction of mRNA and miRNA
Product Performance
The XENOPURE Plant Small RNA Purification Kit isolated more total RNA from 100 mg each of the mosses Sanionia uncinate and Marchantia polymorpha and 100 mg of Arabidopsis thaliana tissue powder than company I ’s kit. 400 ng of RNA were loaded on the lanes. Most genomic DNA was removed, and significant amounts of small RNA were accumulated in the XENOPURE lanes. For gel electrophoresis, 1% agarose gels and 15% page-gels were used.
The level of miR157 in Arabidopsis thaliana WT and two small RNA biogenesis mutants, hyl1-2 and fha2-2, were determined by Northern blotting analysis (2 µg of total RNA was loaded in each lane). The results showed that more miR157 was detected using the XENOPURE Plant Small RNA Purification Kit than company I’s kit (Mol Plant. 2021 Apr 5;14(4):647-663).
