Every day we are working hard and choosing our activities independently. This week we began to look into how our environment is impacted by humans, we looked at how there is a lot of trash in this world and started to think of ideas of how to stop this and help impact our environment positively. We read the story Jack and the Beanstalk and explored measuring the giant's foot prints. We used different materials from the classroom. We measure our height too, we cannot believe how tall we all are. In language, we continue to build our phonic foundational skills.
It was simply magical having our parents in our classroom sharing the learning journey of KG1. We loved showing off our self-portraits, and the different spaces that we enjoy at school. The joy on everyone's faces summed up the whole experience. For many of you, it was the first time to share in the joys of the Student-Led Conference. We hope you loved it as much as we did. We continue to work on our understanding of environments, researching and completing observational drawings, and we added to our jungle and ocean space within the classroom. We are working hard, learning, and playing every day.
Just like that, we are in the last eight weeks of KG1. This week has been a busy week, we are enjoying the longer days and more time to dedicate to being at school. We continued our learning journey in measurement creating long and short lines and are beginning to explore what objects we can use to measure different things. We completed our final self-portrait to add to a special surprise at our Student-Led Conferences. The children are so excited to be the teachers and spend some time with you in their classroom at the SLCs. Please look out for the PTC fast email to book a time. We continued to dive deep into our inquiry into environments and will soon be starting a project focused on environments.
