This week has been another busy week in the KG 1A classroom. We were practicing our letter and number formation, first in the sand and then on paper. We listened to a story called "If I Had a Dinosaur", it was a great book that encouraged our imaginations. We created our own pets with playdough and draw our reflections on the story. This is the best time of year in a KG 1 classroom, everyone is showing different interests and collaborating in games together, it is a pleasure to be a part of. Next week will be a very short week after half term but nonetheless packed with fun activities.
It has been wonderful to be back on campus again. We were able to tune into our new unit a little bit more by exploring loose parts we played drums, made faces, built castles with kings and queens, and created an acorn for a squirrel. Our writing piece allowed our imaginations to sore. We read the story 'Not a Box' and reimagined the purpose of a Kibson box, this included an airplane, a robot, a house, and Blippi. We learned how to identify, create and extend patterns.
What wonderful conversations we had about the amazing students in KG1A in our Parent-Teacher Conferences this week. Thank you to everyone for your flexibility and understanding in remote learning and for taking the highest precautions to ensure our class is safe and can return to campus. We learned about patterns and explored the parts of a story. We enjoyed our specialist subjects from home.
