Waging Life in the DMV

This pod will address socio-economic conditions that give rise to, and perpetuate, inequality throughout the greater DC region. Unpacking concepts like affordable housing and living wage, through community engagement and using student knowledge, will help to explain and inform parameters of inequality. Examining advocacy among various communities in DC can demonstrate how to address the challenges that inequality creates and work to empower those placed at disadvantages from gentrification, homelessness and policies that perpetuate socio-economic inequality. Projects will include plans for advocacy and policy proposals to address these issues in a meaningful way.
