Announcements
Student Success Snapshot Spring Semester #1: UPDATE!
Update: We ran reports at 5:00 pm on Monday, Feb. 26th and all those passing will be entered into our swag drawings. We had issues with processing the progress letters in a timely manner to send to those not passing. As a result, we have decided not to use this report to count against the Dean’s List. We will be using Mar. 25th and May 6th as the Dean’s List qualifications for this spring along with the end of the semester.
Progress Letters: We have run additional reports on Mar. 4th and will send progress letters to students not passing. This report does NOT count as a snapshot. We hope that it helps families make plans for students to be back in good standing by Mar. 25th.

2024-2025 Calendar:
Students and Parents - Please provide feedback: We are considering a change for our 2024-2025 Calendar. This would be a very different calendar than we have had in the past, and therefore it is imperative that we have your voice to help guide this decision. We have two calendars currently drafted shown below:
Calendar A - This calendar is very similar to our typical iUPrep calendar. It has two 90-day semesters, with the fall semester ending after the winter break.
Calendar B - This calendar is more closely aligned to a typical brick-and-mortar calendar. It has the fall semester ending before winter break. It is an 87-day fall semester and an 89-day spring semester.
When making this decision, please consider the following:
Courses have to remain the same level, rigor, and scope of 90 instructional days per semester. In other words, we can't eliminate teaching TEKS to the required level or rigor to shorten our course load. This could lengthen the amount of work on a few of the days throughout the year.
Students often use winter break to complete schoolwork for the fall semester. Calendar B would not allow this. Please consider this for the needs of your family and student.
Please use this form to provide us feedback on your preference.
Please complete this by noon on Feb. 1.

Happy Thanksgiving Break Owls!
iUPrep will be closed next week from Nov. 20 - Nov. 24. We are thankful that you #choosewisely to be a part of our iUPrep family. It wouldn’t be the same without you. Enjoy the break! See you back online Nov. 27.

Hello Owls,
The countdown to Thanksgiving break is here! Our Gratitude Challenge continues on and this week we are raising the bar. Help us collect 1000 gratitudes submitted on our form! If each student took the time to fill it out at least once, we would have no problem meeting that goal! CLICK HERE to complete a form.
Remember - practicing gratitude is easier than you think, here are some steps you can take:
Keep it simple by setting time aside each morning to name 1 to 3 things you are grateful for. This can be done as soon as you open your eyes before you get out of bed or as you brush your teeth each morning.
Take it a step further by writing down your daily gratitudes on a sticky note, your iUPrep Planner, or in a journal.
To make your gratitude practice even more meaningful, you can share your gratitudes with others. We encourage you to post your daily gratitudes in your student chats. If you are especially grateful for a person or their actions, make sure to tell them. This will brighten both of your days.
Lastly, if you would like to share your gratitudes for a teacher, staff member, or about our school in general, we would love to hear them and share them for you. CLICK HERE to complete a form.

Hello Owls,
The countdown to Winter Break and the end of the semester is here! Winter Break is one of my favorite times of the year.
To me, Winter Break is all about relaxing. I am looking forward to slow mornings snuggled up in my favorite blanket next to the warm crackling fireplace while reading a book and sipping on coffee. I can’t wait to bake cookies with my children, attempt to build a gingerbread house, and complete winter crafts to share with friends and family. What are you looking forward to? We would love to know! Fill out this form and share pictures throughout the break.
Last week was our last Student Success Snapshot of the fall semester. I am thrilled to announce that we had 1027 students meet Academic Good Standing! This is OUTSTANDING! Hello Owls,
We had a wonderful October and are in full swing into November. This is when time really starts to fly towards the end of the semester. Before we get too ahead of ourselves, it is important that we slow down and embrace the season we are in. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we would like to encourage you to focus this entire month on establishing habits of gratitude. Studies have shown that practicing gratitude can help people feel more positive, improve their health, become more resilient, build stronger relationships, and much more!

Graduation Announcement: Graduation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 7:00 pm. Seniors, please CLICK HERE for more information and mark your calendars.
Student Success Snapshot #3 NEW date: WOW! Our 2nd Snapshot was amazing! We are so proud of all the hard work our students put in to meet this snapshot! We are moving our 3rd Snapshot to December 4, 2023. We will run reports on Nov 13th and Nov 27th with progress letters home to parents, however these reports will not count towards the official Snapshot. This will give students time to navigate their work around Thanksgiving break and use the break to help catch up if needed. The official Snapshot for the Dean’s List and Swag drawings will be on Dec. 4th.
Academic Good Standing: Students that are passing all classes will be entered into a drawing to win iUPrep Swag! We will draw three students from each grade level to win.
Progress Letter: Students who are not passing all classes will receive a letter from the iUPrep office with a progress report later in the week. Please use this information to support a catch up plan prior to the end of the semester. Students who are not on passing may be considered for additional academic support and/or probation.
Dec. 4th will be our third Student Success Snapshot: Our expectation is that all students are passing at this snapshot.
Pride Support: As always, we are here to support you! Please reach out to your pride teacher and keep them in the loop on your progress and your needs.
Dean’s List of Excellence: Students that exhibit Academic Good Standing at every snapshot starting in October and finish the semester with all passing courses will officially be on our Dean’s List of Excellence. They will receive a special certificate and be recognized at our end of year Owl Expo event. Seniors that make the Dean’s List of Excellence for both fall and spring semester will be recognized at graduation with a special cord.
