Dear iUniversity Prep Families,
We’re thrilled to welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year at iUniversity Prep! As we continue to grow and refine our virtual learning model, we’re introducing a thoughtful shift to our academic calendar: we’ll now operate on four deadlines each year—two per semester—instead of two per school year.
This change is rooted in our desire to better support your students’ learning, pacing, and overall well-being. By creating more frequent checkpoints, we’re giving students regular opportunities to reset, reflect, and catch up before they feel overwhelmed. It’s a system designed not to create pressure, but to create space. Here’s how it will work this year:
First Semester:
Mid-Semester Deadline: October 20
All work assigned through October 3 must be completed by this date.
This two-week buffer accounts for life’s unexpected moments and helps keep students on track without added stress.
Semester Ends: January 8
Final new assignments will be given by December 18.
All remaining assignments from October 6 - December 18 will be due no later than 11:59 pm on January 8.
Second Semester:
Begins: January 13th
Mid-Semester Deadline: March 23rd
All work through March 11 is due by this date.
Year Ends: May 29th
Final assignments will be assigned by May 21st.
All remaining assignments from March 24 - May 21 will be due no later than 11:59 pm on May 29.
We’ve intentionally built generous buffers into each deadline so that students can plan, catch up, or take a breath when needed. Many students won’t even notice these milestones as they naturally stay on pace. But if your student tends to feel anxiety around due dates, please know this structure was designed to support, not to punish.
Snapshots and Dean’s List of Excellence are not going away. We will continue to celebrate our students who keep passing grades throughout the year. On the following dates, if students are PASSING all of their courses, they will be considered for our semester Dean’s List of Excellence, along with entrance into our snapshot swag drawings. Seniors who qualify for the Dean’s list will earn a graduation cord.
Why are we doing this? Because deep, meaningful learning doesn’t happen all at once. It has always been the expectation that students are on pace and passing all their courses each Monday morning. Students who are meeting these expectations and demonstrating this on snapshot dates are more successful on state and national tests as well as in their overall semester scores. Snapshots provide the reward to maintain passing scores, and this new mid-semester deadline will provide the guardrails for pacing.
This system gives them more room to grow, absorb, and truly understand their learning. It encourages consistency over cramming, and reflection over rushing. We believe in grace, growth, and great learning experiences. As always, we are here to partner with you and cheer your students on every step of the way. Our professors and staff are dedicated to helping our students meet these new deadlines with thriving success. Thank you for trusting us. Here’s to a year of milestones and meaningful progress.
With excitement and support,
Desiree Weiche
