Your Child’s First Day at School
We’re very excited to welcome all of our new Primary 1 children and families to Bankhead this August. We can’t wait to meet you on your first day!
Your child will start school on Wednesday 12th August. On the first day, please bring your child to school at 9:30am sharp. Please enter through the main entrance on Caldwell Avenue, where staff will be there to welcome you. Children will go to the assembly hall and sit on benches.
You’re welcome to bring close family members along and take photos in the assembly hall or playground before 9:30am. If you’d like to take photos in your child’s classroom, you can do this from 2:45pm.
On the first morning, we kindly ask that parents do not come into classrooms, as some children may feel nervous and we want to help everyone settle in quickly.
During the first week, children can be collected from their classroom at 2:45pm.
After the first day:
Children should arrive at school for 9:00am and line up in the playground.
From Friday 13th August, children should enter and leave through Gate 1 on Broadlie Drive.
From Monday 16th August, the school day will finish at 3:00pm.
