I would like to thank all of the families that were able to attend our Title 1 Reading with Furry Friends Family Night. We had over 130 people attend! The purpose of these nights are to give families ideas they can do at home with their children in the areas of reading and math. I would also like to thank Happily Ever After, The Wildlife Sanctuary and Lincoln's After School Program for partnering with us on the event.
We would like to extend our thanks to all of our families for the support you provided as students participated in the exam. We truly appreciate your time, flexibility, and patience. Thank you for your continued partnership!
The month of May kicks off with Teacher Appreciation Week! We hope you'll take advantage of these great opportunities to express your appreciation to the professionals that dedicate their time and talents to teaching and leading your student(s)!
Teacher Appreciation Week- May 2nd-6th
The Green Bay Area Public School District is seeking feedback from families, staff and community members regarding facilities' needs that could be addressed through a potential November 2022 referendum, with no tax rate increase for property owners. The purpose of the referendum would be to address facilities needs that increase safety, improve energy efficiency, upgrade academic and athletic areas at secondary schools, and create greater equity regarding elementary and K-8 playgrounds.
The District recognizes that there is still much work to be done regarding the efforts that began in 2016 to address the inequities regarding facilities and enrollment across the District. ATSR Architects, Planners and Engineers has been retained to complete a 10-year Facilities Master Plan. This work is anticipated to be completed in approximately two-years, which includes analysis of all District facilities, a demographic study, and significant community involvement to develop solutions. The projects that are being considered for a November 2022 referendum have been selected because they do not limit ATSR’s ability to develop potential solutions to address facility and enrollment inequities.
Given the rising costs of labor and materials, the District believes that at this time it makes sense to address deferred/delayed maintenance projects, which will only grow more costly in the future.
Survey responses are anonymous. The survey will close at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022. The estimated time required to complete the survey is 10 minutes. Information from community members will be used by the Board of Education to determine recommendations and prioritize solutions.
Paper Form - English l Spanish - Completed paper surveys can be returned to the District Office or to any school office.

The following letter was sent to families regarding a District Calendar Update -
March 16, 2022
Dear GBAPS Families & Staff:
On Monday, March 14, the Board of Education approved making modifications to the 2021-22 calendar, which resulted in the April 1 and May 20 Early Release Days becoming No School/Recess Days*. The calendar change is an acknowledgement of the challenges created by the pandemic for students and staff.
Mental health during the pandemic has been a concern brought forward by many of our students, families, and staff during these past two years. With the relatively mild winter, the District has not had to use its two snow days this year. This provides an opportunity for the Board to grant some additional time off for students, and to offer staff dedicated time to develop high quality instruction and add flexibility to their work day.
Similar to other No School/Recess Days, there will be no Food Service meal distribution on those days. Scheduled co-curricular activities will proceed as normal.
Due to this change, should the District have an inclement weather day, May 6th will be the make-up day. If we have no inclement weather days, May 6th will continue to be a scheduled Recess Day.
We appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
Sincerely,
Green Bay Area Public Schools
