Unit 1

Each unit has an objective, or goal, that we will try to master by the end of the unit. Below are some of the objectives for our matter and energy unit.

By the end of the unit, you will know:

• how to gather qualitative and quantitative information based on observations.
• how to analyze data and plan and implement descriptive investigations.

By the end of the unit, you will be able to:

• use descriptive words, labeled drawings, and concept maps to explain answers.
• analyze data and interpret patterns to construct reasonable explanations.
• construct reasonable explanations from data that can be observed and measured.
• ask well-defined questions and make inferences.
• determine if an investigation is fair or not using evidence.
