Activities are designed to promote linguistic diversity and inclusion. Cultural activities celebrate the unique features of UWCSEA’s students’ home nations, and the Home Languages Programme (HLP) develops students’ language proficiency in their home language, with particular emphasis on writing and reading skills.
Home Languages & Culture Programme
UWCSEA's bespoke Home Languages Programme (HLP) is offered to students who want to maintain a language spoken at home but who do not study this language as part of the academic curriculum during the school day at appropriate level.
Delivered by a qualified native speaker teacher in small group classes after school, the lessons help students maintain and develop their home language skills at age appropriate levels.
