The HLP is a programme for students who want to maintain a language spoken at home but who do not study this language as part of the academic curriculum during the school day at appropriate level.
Paid, weekly classes for students from K1 to G12.
Classes are taught in small groups of 3-6 students.
Classes are taught by experienced and qualified native speaker teachers hired by the school.
For K1-G1 student, the aim is to maintain/expand their Home Language and expose students to the language in a different context from the home.
The focus in G2-G12 is on building students’ literacy skills (reading and writing).
The programme is highly recommended for students who would like to maintain or gain proficiency in their home language and join the school’s First Language class when available. HLP support students who wish to build a pathway towards bilingualism.
