This is a leadership group at East, working on consolidating and strengthening Service systems. Students will have an opportunity to build their leadership skills, both in the service they are part of and also in Service Exec. They work at Service events such as the Holiday Fair in November, Family Festival in March and other MS events if needed.
Students are required to be part of another service in order to apply. Please fill out this application form to apply to join Service Exec.
MS Digital Citizenship Ambassadors is a youth-driven leadership group (this means you!), with the aim of raising awareness of issues found in digital spaces with other Middle School students. This may include, but is not limited to cyberbullying, privacy, social media and digital safety. This leadership group is a community-based approach to peer support. You will be a leader in MS community support and online communication. As part of this leadership group, you will learn how to create and promote positive communication in our community on a wide scale, in both online and offline environments. You will learn to lead and support other students when they encounter conflict, and lead others in cultivating healthy relationships in a variety of online communities. You may also design teaching materials for mentors to use in classrooms. That’s right, you get to have a say in the way we learn PSE too!

MSSL gives students an active role in shaping our Middle School community. Student leaders help gather and represent student voice, contribute ideas for change, support assemblies and Spirit Days, welcome visitors and prospective families, help with Grade 5 transition, take part in school tours, and may be involved in interviewing potential new staff.
We are looking for students who are willing to be a role model to other students by listening carefully to others, representing different perspectives and our MS, contributing ideas, working collaboratively, and following through on responsibilities. This is a year-long commitment.
You do not need to have held a leadership position before, and we are not looking for one particular type of leader. Some people lead by speaking, some by listening, some by organising, some by noticing what others miss, and some by helping a group turn ideas into action.
Please fill out this APPLICATION FORM to join.
The student leadership group works together to promote Activities and its programs during student assemblies. More information is provided on the Activities website.
Please sign up through Activities.

Step 3: You've chosen your service! Learn about what to expect for the next few weeks.
When you join a Middle School Service, you are expected to show commitment, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
Here's what that looks like:
Bring your energy, creativity, and patience to every session
Attend all meetings – only miss if truly necessary (e.g. illness or major school event)
Inform your teacher facilitator in advance if you're absent, and provide a valid reason
Be punctual for buses or the start of service. If it's at lunch, be sure to bring your lunch that day to your service group
Complete any training or preparation before your service begins
Take time to reflect after each session and complete reflection tasks thoughtfully
Service is about more than just doing—it’s about learning, growing, and becoming a responsible, caring citizen of the world.
