The MS JEDI Warriors is a student-led initiative working to further Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice here in our community. The group’s focus will be on connecting, healing, and engaging in open, honest, and supportive dialogue. The group will also be action-oriented to raise awareness and effect positive change in our community.
MS Equality Focus is a focus group that is centered around LGBTQ+ issues. LGBTQ+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/ Questioning and more.
Our main overall purpose is to create a non-toxic, accepting space within our school for both members of the LGBTQ+ community and people who see themselves as their supportive allies.
Students who join MS Equality Focus will be part of an inclusive group that encourages respect, understanding, and open discussion. Members will participate throughout the year in activities that promote awareness of the LGBTQ+ community. The group will also participate in activities that celebrate inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community around the world, and build knowledge of the challenges that are faced.
We hope to see many new members who seek to build acceptance and inclusivity in our middle school through their support of LGBTQ+ identity!

Step 3: You've chosen your service! Learn about what to expect for the next few weeks.
When you join a Middle School Service, you are expected to show commitment, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
Here's what that looks like:
Bring your energy, creativity, and patience to every session
Attend all meetings – only miss if truly necessary (e.g. illness or major school event)
Inform your teacher facilitator in advance if you're absent, and provide a valid reason
Be punctual for buses or the start of service. If it's at lunch, be sure to bring your lunch that day to your service group
Complete any training or preparation before your service begins
Take time to reflect after each session and complete reflection tasks thoughtfully
Service is about more than just doing—it’s about learning, growing, and becoming a responsible, caring citizen of the world.
