Roots and Shoots
This Environmental Service sees us turning our passion for the environment into local action! One of our focuses will be to help conduct a biodiversity study right here on East Campus.
Through active field research, plant mapping, and wildlife tracking, we will explore, document, and work to learn and share more about our school's unique ecosystems. By understanding the living things in our own backyard, and in Singapore, we will be working to take meaningful steps to promote conservation, foster environmental stewardship, and make a positive impact on our planet, starting with our school community.
Time: FRI 11:20-12:15

Cycle ReCycle
Turn forgotten bikes into community treasures! At CycleReCycle, we rescue broken, abandoned, and donated bicycles - repairing them and bringing them back to life. Along the way, you’ll gain hands-on experience in mechanics, maintenance, and bike service skills, all while helping foster a campus culture of repair and reuse
From fixing flats to fine-tuning gears, you’ll learn to transform two wheeled write-offs into smooth-rolling rides. You’ll work with professional tools, pick up practical skills, and share them at campus-wide community events.
No experience? No problem. Just bring your energy, curiosity, and a willingness to get your hands a little greasy!
Zero Waste: Artivism
Love creating big, bold art with a purpose? In this service, you’ll transform waste into powerful art installations for our campus, using materials like clay for ceramics, scrap metal, and even large discarded items to make statement pieces. The possibilities are endless. Your work will inspire our community to rethink waste and see its creative potential, while supporting environmental initiatives and outdoor classrooms.

It’s not just about organising clothes, you’ll design fun marketing materials, help run pop-up stalls at events, and create campaigns that encourage our community to choose reuse over waste. Step 3: You've chosen your service! Learn about what to expect for the next few weeks.
When you join a Middle School Service, you are expected to show commitment, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
Here's what that looks like:
Bring your energy, creativity, and patience to every session
Attend all meetings – only miss if truly necessary (e.g. illness or major school event)
Inform your teacher facilitator in advance if you're absent, and provide a valid reason
Be punctual for buses or the start of service. If it's at lunch, be sure to bring your lunch that day to your service group
Complete any training or preparation before your service begins
Take time to reflect after each session and complete reflection tasks thoughtfully
Service is about more than just doing—it’s about learning, growing, and becoming a responsible, caring citizen of the world.
