Step 3: You've chosen your service! Learn about what to expect for the next few weeks
When you join a Middle School Service, you are expected to show commitment, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
Here's what that looks like:
Bring your energy, creativity, and patience to every session
Attend all meetings – only miss if truly necessary (e.g. illness or major school event)
Inform your teacher facilitator in advance if you're absent, and provide a valid reason
Be punctual for buses or the start of service. If it's at lunch, be sure to bring your lunch that day to your service group
Complete any training or preparation before your service begins
Take time to reflect after each session and complete reflection tasks thoughtfully
Service is about more than just doing—it’s about learning, growing, and becoming a responsible, caring citizen of the world.
