Dear Grade 4 Parents and Students,
Welcome to Grade 4! My name is Lindsay Strickland and I am the Head of Grade 4. I am thrilled to be part of a team of teachers with a wealth of international teaching experience and interests.
The Grade 4 teaching team includes teachers: George Lagartixa, Kim Duffy, Kris Leverton, Jeneane Paxson, Jen Smith, Jenn MacSwain, Terry Hasler and myself, plus teaching assistants: Ms Soundra, Ms Rohini, Ms Mariam and Ms Santhi. We are all looking forward to getting to know both you and your child during the first few weeks of school.
The first day of school for all students will be on Tuesday, 18 August.
We have an exciting year ahead of us and our inquiry learning will begin with our unit of study, ‘Location’. In this unit, we look at the settlement and development of locations, with a particular focus on Singapore. Situation permitting, we hope to take the students on a number of enriching field trips within Singapore. While the Grade 4 expedition to Sibu will not be taking place this year, we do have integrated theme days for Outdoor Education throughout the year. More information will be shared at the start of the academic year, as well as information about our Service programme.
As the Head of Grade, I have a responsibility for all of the students in Grade 4 so please do not hesitate to contact me at any time during the school year. In the meantime enjoy the school holiday and we can all look forward to a wonderful year of learning.
Kind regards,
Lindsay Strickland
Head of Grade 4
