Grade 3

Dear Grade 3 Parents and Students,

Firstly, I would like to wish you all a warm welcome to Grade 3. My name is Luke Whitehouse and I am the Head of Grade 3. I was an original member of the Grade 3 team when we opened in 2008 and since then I have been Head of Grade for Grade 5 and more recently Grade 4. Prior to moving to Singapore, I also taught in Oman, Milan, Caracas and London.

We have a fantastic team of teachers and teaching assistants in Grade 3 with a wealth of international teaching experience and interests.

While our expedition to Gunung Ledang in Malaysia has had to be cancelled this year, there will be a number of Outdoor Education theme days through the year to develop our students' skills. More details on this will come out at the start of the academic year.

Our Grade 3 Service initiative is Green Umbrella, where we aim to raise awareness, advocate, and support specific projects. We integrate this into the learning programme for all students. We normally have an annual trip to Green Umbrella, which offers our students and the parents the opportunity to build their understanding and make connections. This has had to be put on hold for the time being, with more information coming from the Service department next year.

As a reminder, please be sure to continue to check this website as we will add information and provide updates. The first day of school for all students will be on Tuesday, 18 August.

As the Head of Grade I have a responsibility for all of the students in Grade 3, so please do not hesitate to contact me at any time during the school year. In the meantime, enjoy the school holiday and we can all look forward to a wonderful year of learning.
