1) How many activities can my K1- G1 child do?

Please refer to table above with the allocated activities per student each season.

2) Do we have to commit for 2 seasons?

HLP students commit for 2 seasons to ensure continuity, steady language progress, and meaningful learning. The lessons are planned across both seasons, allowing skills to build over time and supporting student confidence and class stability.

3) Is HLP counted as an activity?

Yes. Parents will need to take note of the number of activities their child is enrolled in when signing up for HLP, as HLP is counted as an activity.

4) When will I know my child's HLP class allocation?

Class allocations are usually confirmed after the HLP sign-up period closes. Once all registrations are in, the HLP team reviews student levels, age, and language needs to assign students to the most suitable class.

Parents can expect to receive notification of their child’s class allocation shortly after the sign-up deadline, along with class schedule details. After confirmation from parents, we will register their names on CIMS. Payment (online) is required after confirmation, ensuring that your child’s place in the class is secured.

5) I want to register my child for HLP but I have missed the deadline. Can I still sign up for the class?

It may still be possible to register your child, depending on class availability and level of the class. Please contact the HLP team at doverhomelanguages@uwcsea.edu.sg as soon as possible to check.

6) Withdrawal and Refunds? Refunds will only be issued in the following cases:

• Illness or injury (3+ weeks) – A refund will be given with a doctor’s note. Missed HLP sessions cannot be carried over to the next season, and replacement lessons will not be offered.

• Clash with school trips – Refunds will be provided for the sessions missed. No replacement lessons.

• Withdrawal at least 48 hours before the first session – Full refund.

• Withdrawal before the 3rd session – Pro-rated refund for the remaining sessions.

• Please note: Withdrawal on or after the 3rd session means the full season fees apply.

7) HLP Registration?

Students commit for 2 Seasons, with 2 sign-up sessions ( August & February) (estimated schedule)

– Cycle 1 (Seasons 1 & 2 ) :  September to January

– Cycle 2 (Seasons 3 & 4) :  February to June
