Vulnerable as defined as people with pre-existing medical conditions, medically fragile and/or special health care needs.
PDE Health and Safety Plan Requirements
Plan must include the following:
Steps to protect children and staff at higher risk for severe illness.
Students who meet the high-risk criteria, due to safety and health concerns, should the LEA consider homebound?
Do districts need to provide specific protective masks or faceshields for students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Speech related services?
Is there a higher level of PPE needed for hands on services provided to students?
How will districts ensure sensory tools used in Autistic Support are cleaned and maintained?
Will districts be able to excuse medically fragile students from in person sessions?
Will that be an IEP team decision or how will schedules be accommodated for these changes?
What health and safety precautions beyond what is typically recommended for students with who pose risk via behaviors such as spitting or acting out in way that may require safe physical management?
Can we prioritize low incidence students or those not engaged virtually to come to school daily?
How will health and safety measures be implemented for itinerant staff that visit multiple classrooms/buildings?
Do you have protocols to identify and support?
Can you create protocols for integration into the school day?
