Week 4 PE Lessons

Unit 1 Music Lessons

Happy Monday! Welcome to Week 4 of distance learning!

Each day of the packet has work for your child to do in reading, writing and math. We will continue to highlight one subject/lesson a day which we will call the "Priority Task." The Priority Task will be highlighted in blue.

In addition to each day's Priority Task, we'll have a list of "Recommended Tasks" if you're up for doing more. Among these extra tasks will be: additional pages in the packet for that school day, blank pages to do free writing (Tues/Thurs), supplemental video lessons from the teachers, and time on the varying educational apps.

Please let your child’s teacher know if you have any questions!

Priority Task:

Today we will be focusing on reading. Please follow along with Mrs. Brown below and then read "Thump, Jangle, Crash" in your packet. Specific instructions are below:

Click above to follow along with Mrs. Brown.

1) Please read the short story "Thump, Jangle, Crash" in your packet under today, Day 1. Read it either on your own or with an adult. After you've read it, make sure you understand it! If not, re-reading is a good strategy.

2) Once you're ready, please take a video of yourself retelling the story. What was the setting? Who were the characters? What happened first, next, then and last?

3) Submit your video to your teacher through ClassDojo Portfolios or Seesaw. For best success remember to record video submissions using the app.

When you think about your retell of "Thump, Jangle, Crash" you can use this retell poster to help you! Who were the characters? Where did the story happen? What happened at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end?

Recommended (extra) tasks for today:

  • Number Corner with Mrs. Brown (see below)
  • 20 minutes on Lexia
  • 20 minutes on Dreambox
  • Extra packet pages under Week 4, Day 1

Mrs. Brown is bringing back "Calendar" for us! Yippee! It's been a long time, first graders. You haven't even seen April's calendar yet! That tells us how long we've been learning from home. Please follow along and see if you notice this month's pattern! For many of us, this was our favorite time of the day, so we're excited to be adding it to our remote learning. Thank you, Mrs. Brown!
