Dear Families,

What an adventure we are about to embark upon together. I want to thank you in advance for your patience, understanding, and kindness as we work through this together.

Transitions, especially unexpected ones, can be difficult. I am here for both you and for the kids. Never hesitate to ask questions. We are all being asked to adapt to unexpected circumstances and to learn new skills... overnight!

Along with academics, I hope we can demonstrate to the children of our community that, even when times are hard, people are good. That we can show up for each other even when we can't be together. And that connections of friendship, love, and respect can continue to grow under even the most extreme circumstances.

Moving forward, most of my communication will be through email and ClassDojo, so please make sure to check for messages often. This website will also grow to become a wealth of information and support. I hope you will check back in daily.

Dear First Grade Families,

Ready or not, here we go! Diving into distance learning is going to be exciting, require patience and understanding as well as some grace as we are all “surviving” this COVID 19 roller coaster in different ways. Even though we are physically apart, we will get through this TOGETHER!

Please know that our First Grade team, Buckingham Staff and the Bend-LaPine School District are here for both you and the students. Ask questions to clarify, request needed resources and share your thoughts so we can assist or try to improve upon our teachings. We are all adjusting in these “uncharted waters”… so let’s travel through with some empathy and support for one another.

Yes, we will be embarking upon new learning in math, reading and writing….but this is the time to share with our kids the importance of community, family, friendships, giving and connecting. These important lessons of the heart will be highly impactful with your children now… but also into their future.
