Description
The Speak&Act project's Impact Assessment Report provides insights into the tools and results from evaluating Learning Scenarios implemented across Italy, Portugal, Poland, and Slovenia. Assessment tools included structured focus groups and an international competition employing specific public speaking methodologies—debates, TED Talks, and podcasts. These tools effectively measured improvements in students' public speaking, teamwork, and citizenship engagement.
Significant results highlighted enhanced student confidence, clearer articulation of ideas, and strengthened persuasion and critical thinking skills. Teachers noted substantial growth in students' ability to cooperate and communicate, particularly in international settings. Additionally, the evaluation emphasized increased student participation in community and volunteer activities, reflecting a deeper engagement with Citizenship Education.
Overall, the project significantly raised awareness about Erasmus+ opportunities among students and teachers, fostering professional growth, teaching innovation, and international collaboration.
“I confess that I didn't even realize what it was all about when my son announced that he had joined another school club. From the relaxed tone in which he described it, I don't think he himself realized what it represented. But I saw and we followed at home not only the committed way he took part in the meetings, but also the resourcefulness with which he talked and defended his points of view. Dinners at home can be challenging, with people who have very strong opinions. My son became more and more involved in rebuttals and counter-rebuttals. More and more confident, fearless and sometimes even amusing. But above all, he was confident. Self-confident.”
