Activity 3: Google Form Lesson Reflection
Who - Voice Student
The need - In our interview, the student mentioned that they need time and space to process. The activity is designed to give them that time and space to reflect on previous activities and provide their input on how to move forward.
What -
Teacher creates a Google Form for the student to fill out.
It is comprised mostly of “yes” or “no” questions with space at the end to write their thoughts in a short answer format.
This should take the student no more than 10 minutes to complete.
Music - This activity is aimed at reflecting upon their musical experience in voice lessons this semester.
UDL - I incorporated the “develop self-assessment and reflection” checkpoint in this activity, providing scaffolding for the student to recognize their own progress.
SEL - This activity focuses on the “self-awareness” portion of SEL by them linking their feelings, values, and thoughts to the activities and encourage a growth mindset.
How -
The teacher reflects on the semester and the previous activities. This is similar to a course evaluation, but much less formal.
Split the form into sections for ease of access and expectations.
Utilize mainly “yes” or “no” questions as required questions, such as “Did you find the practice log that we implemented in the last month of lessons helpful?”
Follow up these required questions with short answer questions where the student can elaborate if they wish.
Email the student the link and establish a deadline.
Materials - a Google form (or something similar).
