Who
This is an activity for music educators to use with their students to make transitions to starting class smoother.
How
Begin by playing a chord progression of I-IV-V-I on the piano or guitar if available in a percussive manner
Instruct the class to "follow me!"
Give class movement instructions for each time through the progression
First time through : "Clap with me"
Second time " Stomp with me"
Third time " pat your knees"
Fourth time " jump with me"
Fifth time "have a seat with me"
End with one last playing of the chord progression
