Community Partner Interview

Who was interviewed?

I decided to interview two community partners in my school: our school counselor, and one of our third grade classroom teachers. 

When was the interview?

I interviewed our school counselor on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, and our third grade teacher on Friday, February 25, 2022. 

How long did the interviews last?

Both interviews lasted approximately 35 minutes.

What questions were asked of the community partners?

The following questions were asked of my community partners:

• What are some needs you see with your students that could potentially be enhanced by some sort of music-based activity?

• Are these needs academic, related to social emotional learning, or both?

• Are these needs specific to a grade level, or do you see them across the school?

• Are there any strategies you have tried in the past to help with the mentioned needs, and have they worked or not worked?

• What kind of activities would work best? Teacher led? Student led? Passive activities for students to engage in at their leisure?

• Would something for a large group or small group be most beneficial?

• Is there a specific unit or content area you would like me to build upon to help enhance the material?
