Who – This resource is for the family of a kindergartener who has Down syndrome.
Need – The parent shared that her child struggles with receptive communication and needs an outlet to get out her energy. This resource encourages listening to directions and gross motor movement and coordination
What – This resource is a YouTube playlist of three videos of me facilitating three familiar songs used in the child's music group at school. The songs include: "Move It, Move It" and "Shake-a My Egg" by Stephanie Leavell and "
UDL and SEL – UDL Principle -> Multiple means of representation: I am singing instructions and modeling movement in two of the videos. SEL Competency -> Self-Management: Both child and family can use movement activities to exhibit self-discipline and manage emotions.
How:
1. Pull up YouTube playlist on a device with internet
2. Make sure you are in a good space to move around
3. Hit play
4. Follow movement instructions in the songs
5. Sing and move along with MTI (parent is modeling for the student), encourage child to do the same
6. Repeat as necessary
Materials:

• Unlisted YouTube playlist of MTI facilitating activities
• Maracas, egg shakers, or any household item that can shake in a similar manner
