Who - For teachers to use with students in elementary school.

The need - The teachers interviewed expressed different needs such as primary content for upper elementary, processing emotions, and working together in groups. 

What - This activity is Marvel Superhero themed. Students are exploring simplistic movement through super hero poses and tiktok examples. Students are will talk about good and bad by discussing heroes and villains. Finally, students will use a model of the avengers to work as a team to come up with movements/compositions. 

UDL and SEL - UDL is utilized because students are able to receive the content through multiple means of representation: Visually and aurally. SEL is used by  creating self-awareness of who has what role in the group. 

How 

1. 1. 1. Teachers will open up the google slides (Linked Here)

      2. Teachers will ask who knows the Avengers.

      3. (Go to slide 3) Ask students if they remember this trend from tiktok of jumping out of the pool into the poses.

      4.  (Go to slide 4) Tell students to follow the superheroes and the poses they do.

      5. (Go to slide 5) Explore the different poses that super heroes do by mimicking each of them.

      6. (Go to slide 6) Talk about different roles in the group by reading the slides with the kids. After each line ask students to describe in their own words. Remind students that there will be different group activities throughout the year and that they may want to let others have the opportunity to be the leader.

      7. (Go to slide 7) Read the directions with your class and give students the time to create together. Play the sound every once in awhile to give them a reminder of what they are listening for. 

      8. After 10 minutes, (Go to slide 8)and tell students to be ready to do their performance backwards and forwards and at different speeds. 

      9. Discuss tempos with the students.
