RISD will take a snapshot at 4:20 PM of each students grades for the 1st six weeks UIL Eligibility check as per the TEA "No Pass, No Play" requirement of all students in UIL activities. All classes must be 70 or above on September 19th at 4:20 PM in order to participate in marching contests, football games and pep rallies. Students, check FOCUS now...and make sure that you have turned in all late work or outstanding assignments. Let's work diligently this weekend to get everything turned in to your teachers! Classes that are designated as AP or On-Ramps are exempt from the UIL eligibility list.
First session of Inspired Performers will meet in the Large Ensemble room on Tuesday, September 9th from 4:30pm - 6:00pm.
Section shirts have arrived! Please make sure you have paid your $20 section shirt fee in Presto. Ms. Dunlap will begin passing out section shirts on Tuesday after school. You will only be able to receive a shirt if the fee has been paid.
All students will be receiving an envelope during class this week with 3 raffle tickets in it. Students are being asked to sell 3 tickets each between now and Friday, November 14th for this fundraiser. Each ticket is $25.00 and can be sold either in-person as a physical ticket or online! Click here for our webpage with all the details, entry form, and PayPal link.
Students will be financially responsible for the cost of the tickets should they lose the raffle tickets or not sell them.
Because of the heat during our first couple of games (and potentially first contest performance), the band will be performing in the "Summer" Marching Uniform. This consists of the 2025 Dream On show shirt (received at registration or upon paying first installment of band fees), athletic tennis shoes (we will wear the black marching shoe once we receive the order), and a pair of solid black athletic shorts.
These shorts will NOT be provided this year.
The shorts must be school appropriate in length and must allow the student to perform every part of the show without issue. The material of the shorts can be cotton, dry-fit, or something comparable, but they may NOT be spandex. Volleyball and biker shorts are not acceptable. Small logos (less than an inch in size) are okay, but anything larger will not be permitted.
Here are some links to examples of shorts that meet the criteria:

Shorts like this can also serve as shorts to wear underneat the competitive marching uniform when the time comes. Students will need to have the necessary components of this uniform by Friday, August 29th (first football game).
Our first gameday is almost here! See documents linked on the right for all the information you need in order to be prepared for it.
