Mr. Nate Holland is the newest member of Team Berkner and excited to begin his first year of teaching at L.V. Berkner High School. He will be conducting the Concert Band, leading Jazz Band II, teaching beginner brass classes within the Berkner Learning Community, and assisting with the marching band and other concert ensembles.
Mr. Holland has recently graduated from the University of North Texas College of Music with a Bachelor’s in Music Education. During his time at UNT, he studied horn with Dr. Katherine McBain and conducting with Dr. Amy Woody. He served as the Drum Major and Mellophone Section Leader for the UNT Green Brigade, led the Funky Fresh Pep Bands for all basketball and volleyball games, and was an Eagle Ambassador Tour Guide for the campus. He also performed with the Wind Ensemble, Brass Band, Horn Choir, and various other ensembles throughout his time at UNT. Mr. Holland most recently completed his student teaching in Denton ISD with Braswell High School and Rodriguez Middle School.
Mr. Holland is a big fan of traveling, having gone with the UNT Green Brigade to Ireland in 2022 and performed in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, as well as the Czech Republic in 2024 to study Dechovka music with Dr. Ben Graf and the Czech ensemble Stribrnanka. When not immersed in music, Mr. Holland enjoys spending time outside, hanging with friends, and cooking lots of food.
