At Vista Heights Middle School our dancers engage in the skillful development of their bodies and thoughtful growth of their minds. Dancers engage in a unique creative perspective though movement, collaboration, and performance. Unlocking the possibilities within themselves, the surrounding community and culture and within the Art of Dance. We are excited to be able to offer this unique experience to our students.
The Advanced Dance Class is known as The Vista Heights Dance Team. During the year, the class is often rehearsing for upcoming performances on campus like lunch activities, awards ceremonies, college kick off and more! The advanced dancers excel in jazz, contemporary, ballet and hip hop styles. The students are responsible for choreographing the Spring Dance Concert at the end of the year to display their leadership, creativity, and dance technique.
The VHMS Competition Teams are voluntary and compete in the community representing VHMS and MVUSD. We compete in Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. The Dance Team practices after school and is responisble for fundraising for uniforms and transportation. The team has performed at the UCLA half time performance with USA spiritleaders, competed at Universal Studios and took part in Disneyland Dance Workshops!
