The Office of Research Management (ORM) is tasked to promote, manage, monitor, and evaluate the research undertakings of the University.
Mission
To provide training, technical, and research services that will empower faculty, staff, and students to do independent scholarly research geared toward community- and nation-building.
General Objectives
Foster a robust research culture within the University by aligning R&D activities towards this objective.
Regularly assess the University’s R&D focus in light of global, national, local, and University research demands, recommending adjustments when necessary.
Support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of approved research projects and R&D programs.
Promote the creation of R&D project proposals among MSU-IIT constituents for submission to appropriate funding agencies.
Encourage collaboration and participation in research and R&D activities with other academic institutions, industries, and organizations.
Develop strategies to secure financial resources for University R&D projects and programs.
Manage research data and facilitate information retrieval to meet the needs of research end-users

Peace and Governance: promote cross-disciplinary and collaborative research that can generate new knowledge, insights, and solutions to complex societal problems.
Integrative Resiliency and Sustainable Solutions: develop a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to enhancing the resilience and sustainability of social, economic, and environmental systems.
Disruptive innovation and smart nation: require integrative research efforts to support the development of smart, sustainable, and resilient communities.
Applied and theoretical science: understanding of natural phenomena and improving the ability to solve practical problems using science and mathematics.

Materials Science: develop and generate new materials with improved properties and functionalities for a wide range of applications.
