The MSU-IIT Annual In-House Review of Research and Development Projects is an activity conducted by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise through the Office of Research Management, to serve as a venue for the discussion of the results and findings of R&D projects and identification of potential technologies already matured for patent application or implementation, among others. The conduct of AIHR also serves to promote the culture of research in the University.
OBJECTIVES
Provide a forum for the discussion of R&D project results and findings.
Evaluate R&D Projects in accordance with their respective objectives and approved program of activities.
Review initial activities of new projects with emphasis on the research methods/procedures against the attainment of project objectives.
Identify problems met during project implementation and pursue specific courses of action in accordance with the recommendations of the evaluation panel.
Identify potential technologies for assessment especially those requiring field-testing, verification and piloting and possible classification of technology status.
Identify significant results/information for policy formulation and development planning of the Institute and/or other concerned agency.
Identify new researchable areas.
RULES
The competition is open to all Colleges and Centers covering completed and on-going Internally-funded R&D projects.
Nature of R&D covers all areas of specialization as stated in the call for papers.
Categories are:
Oral Paper Presentation (Completed)
Poster Paper Presentation (On-going - Current year)
Only R&D projects conducted in the last two (2) years which have not been entered in previous AIHRs will qualify for presentation.
Only R&D projects done in IIT will be considered. Research projects with external collaborator(s) will also be considered given that the main proponent is from MSU-IIT and that the project was done here in IIT.
At least an Eighty-Five (85%) percentage/rating shall be required to be ranked for a winning entry.
The following schedule applies:
Submission of manuscript e-copy in A4-size file (see prescribed paper format) - deadline: September 19, 2025
Note: All poster presenters must also submit a full manuscript through the submission link
WRITTEN PAPER SPECIFICATIONS
Papers should follow the prescribed Paper Format.
Paper size used should be A4.
Paper should include an abstract of not more than 250 words and the total pages of an entry should not exceed 10.
Author(s) name(s) should be spelled out.
Paper/s should be submitted in one (1) e-copy in word format in the submission link.
Submitted entries shall be screened based on compliance to the specifications stated above.
PAPER PRESENTATION
A. ORAL
Oral Paper Presentation (Completed) shall be for 15 minutes, and 5 minutes for question and answer (Q&A).
A timer shall be utilized to prompt presenters 5 minutes before time for presentation will expire.
If the presentation is finished before the allotted time, the 5-minute Q&A will automatically begin.
There will be an open forum to allow time for clarifications and questions thrown by the panel of evaluators and the audience if time permit.
B. POSTER
Poster presenters shall entertain questions from the panel of evaluators and other participants during the Parallel Session.
Posters will also be presented at the MSU-IIT Gymnasium.
The poster should have a dimension of 76 cm [30 inches] (width) x 101.5 cm [40 inches] (length) and should be printed.
AWARDS
In Oral Presentation, there will be only two (2) winners (first and second) for each division.
In Poster Presentation, there will be one (1) winner for each division under On-going Projects.
Cash prizes and certificates will be given to the winners.
Non-winning participants will be given certificates.
In cases that only one (1) entry is submitted to a category of completed or on-going poster presentation, an Eighty-Five (85%) percentage/rating shall be required to be recognized as the winner. Otherwise, no prize will be awarded.
