The Interior is a land of rivers and forests. The heart of the Interior is the Yukon River, which runs right through its center. The 2,300-mile Yukon is the largest river in Alaska and the third longest in North America.
The Interior is basically the Yukon River's watershed. Other major rivers in the Interior, all of which are tributaries of the Yukon, are the Koyukuk, Tanana, and Porcupine.
