Foundation 649, a nonprofit that provides scholarships to Asian American and Pacific Islander students. We’re currently accepting applications for our 2025 scholarship to graduating Asian American/Pacific Islander high schoolers (4 awards of $1,000 USD over 4 years). This is our sixth year sponsoring the scholarship, and we would love for your seniors to apply! Please find the updated The 2025 Friends of the Carolina Forest Library annual scholarship instructions and application. It is important to note that we have significantly increased our scholarship amount from $1,000 to $2,500 each. Several $2,500 scholarships will be available for students. In order to be eligible, the scholarship application package must be received by March 1, 2025. Students may electronically submit their scanned application packages to our email address. Application packages may also be mailed to the Carolina Forest Library or given to the Librarian in person.

The Mead & Hunt Scholarship for current or incoming college students is now open and accepting applications through March 1. We are offering scholarships for non-traditional/returning college students, high school seniors that identify as ethnic minorities, and a general college scholarship that is open to all. Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union and Horry Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (HTC) have partnered to offer two scholarship awards to local graduating high school seniors who wish to continue their education at either Coastal Carolina University (CCU) or Francis Marion University (FMU). Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to rising college freshmen seeking a four-year degree from CCU or FMU. APPLY BELOW DUE March 3, 2025
The HCS Teacher Forum is once again sponsoring the Horry County Schools’ Teacher Scholarship. The purpose of this award is to recognize and support our outstanding seniors who choose to enter the field of professional education. Although award amounts may vary, last year we awarded one $1,500 and six $1,000 scholarships.

The South Carolina Education Association-Retired administers a scholarship program as an ongoing activity of the Association. Four scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded annually and are designed to help enable promising young people to pursue a four-year degree in education at a SACS accredited college, university, technical school or community college in South Carolina.
Chadwick Kyle Cranford Memorial Scholarship- DUE March 24, 2026
The scholarship is renewable for three (3) years following the year of award for up to a total of four (4) years. The requirements for renewal are the maintaining of a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25 or better for the prior year's study and continuance as a full-time student. To renew the scholarship, the student must provide an official copy of their college transcript. The scholarship is paid directly the college Bursar's office on behalf of the recipient and is remitted in early August prior to the commencement of the fall semester.

We are excited to announce the launch of the 2025 UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship Program™. This year’s application deadline is March 31, 2025.
The program offers educational scholarships to people living with epilepsy, family members, and caregivers to help them fulfill their dreams. HCHEC Scholarships with Coastal Carolina- The Horry County Higher Education Commission (HCHEC) offers scholarship opportunities to graduates from eligible Horry County high schools that choose to attend Coastal Carolina University. DEADLINE: March 15 Beginning each January, applications will be available to all accepted CCU students via WebAdvisor. After logging into WebAdvisor, click on the link "Apply for Application-based Scholarships" to apply. Applications will be reviewed by the HCHEC Scholarship Committee. The number of new awards may vary annually.
Visual and Performing Arts Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded annually to talented Horry County high school seniors planning to major in art studio, graphic design, music, musical theatre, theatre arts or dramatic arts at Coastal Carolina University. War & Society Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded annually to a Horry County high school senior who plans to major or minor in history or neighboring disciplines in the humanities. Preference will be given to applicants who plan to integrate their interest in war and society into their academic program and subsequent careers. The purpose of the Carl B. Miller Business Leader Scholarship is to: recognize a student interested in pursuing a career in an area of business or entrepreneurship; demonstrate leadership skills; extend support to youth in Horry County Schools by encouraging youth to consider careers in business and entrepreneurship; and provide a forum for recipients to meet established Business Leaders/Owners in Horry County.
The S-STEM CARES @ CCU Engineering Scholarship program aims to support high-achieving, low-income undergraduate engineering science majors with demonstrated financial need. The S-STEM CARES program will provide a renewable, last-dollar scholarship (up to $15,000 after all other grants and scholarships have been taken into account) to *eligible incoming first-year students who have applied to CCU for Fall 2025 and are majoring in Engineering Science through graduation (up to eight semesters of support). The 2025 Mary Atmar Johnson Scholarship cycle is open and will run through 4:00 pm on Monday, March 17th. Each year, Tidelands Community Hospice Foundation awards the four (4) $1,000 scholarships to four (4) recipients who are or will be pursuing a career in Nursing or Social Work. Scholarship recipients will hopefully be announced the end of April. Also, an application is posted under Scholarship on our website tidelandshospice.org
The Bobby Chapman Scholarship (DUE 3-18-25) is to be awarded to a student who is a graduate (or soon will be) of a secondary school in the Southeastern United States and/or participated in a prior Bobby Chapman Invitational. The Bobby Chapman Scholarship will be awarded each year on or before May 15. The Bobby Chapman Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship Program will select ten (10) scholarship recipients per year out of all completed applications received. The scholarship can be renewed annually for four years of the college experience in the amount of $1,500 per year.
The American Legion Legacy Scholarship is a needs-based scholarship designed to fulfill a financial gap remaining after all federal and state educational grants/scholarships available to an eligible applicant have been utilized. St. Andrew Catholic School Alumni Scholarship. This is a Scholarship Application for the amount of $1,000.00 for 2025 Horry County high school graduates who are St. Andrew Catholic School alumni. Scholarship deadline is March 28, 2025.
Criteria:
A GPA of 3.25 or higher, must be a graduate of St. Andrew Catholic School, show commitment to service, be an active member of a Catholic Parish or another Faith community and must provide three letters of recommendation* from: 1. Pastor of Church applicant attends, 2. A current teacher, 3. St. Andrew School staff member from your time at St. Andrew.

Ezra Lawson Memorial Scholarship
Ezra Lawson was a member of the Class of 2021 at Socastee High School. His uplifting spirit and personality brought a smile to every person he knew. His passion for God, his family and friends, and the United States Air Force was truly inspiring. He tragically lost his life in a car accident on May 8th, 2022. Ezra’s family and friends organized a 3 on 3 basketball tournament last summer to honor him. The funds raised from the tournament will be used to award a memorial scholarship to HCS seniors who have been involved with athletics, clubs and activities, and/or worked outside of school.

The Whittemore Alumni Association Scholarship is awarded each year to graduating seniors who are descendants of Whittemore High School alumni. Students planning to enter an accredited college or university are eligible to apply. The scholarship award is $1,000 for the first year and is non-renewable. Whittemore Alumni Association Scholarship DUE March 31 2025. The Whittemore Alumni Association Scholarship is open to descendants of Whittemore alumni. A Whittemore alum is defined as anyone who attended school in the Whittemore system who may or may not have graduated. Eligible students may live in or outside Horry County (South Carolina). Verification of primary eligibility criteria (relationship to a Whittemore Alum) is captured on the application.

Since 1984, the Scholarship Fund has contributed over $300,000 in college scholarships to over 300 deserving high school seniors in Horry County. Each year one student from each high school in Horry County will be awarded the annual scholarship. This scholarship would not be possible without the generous support from Bolton & Menk Inc., (formally DDC Engineers). The Scholarship Program of the Beach Ball Classic will award for the 2024-2025 school year a minimum of (9) $1,000.00 college scholarships to outstanding high school athletes as designated.
