Goal setting, active test proctoring, and an appropriate testing environment are the best ways to ensure students are set up for success during MAP testing. To maximize instructional time, MAP retesting is not encouraged unless proctors are confident of a different outcome based on a specific set of criteria. Retests are not required but permitted if time allows within the testing window, otherwise the test will not be reset. Please refer to our Rapid Guessing and When Retesting is Required document for more details.
The student was not given the appropriate accommodations. In this case, a valid test may or may not exist and retest may be required if time allows within the testing window.Â
