School Committee

Take a look at School Committee where your school might belong.

School Committee makes decisions on school operations including approving school calendars and budgets, setting district policies, and hiring Superintendents. While the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education does institute certain statewide policies and programs (e.g., by overseeing standardized testing, MCAS), most control over public schools in Massachusetts is maintained by local School Committees.

You can write or meet with school committee members. You also can attend school committee meetings and present your opinions. Explore your school committee by searching for their website below.
