Frequently Asked Questions
How can students benefit from this program?
Being part of a smaller community for part of the day allows students to form strong relationships with their peers and teachers. With a max of 100 students in each 9th grade cohort, this half day program offers a small-school environment, with all the benefits of a large traditional school, including sports, clubs and activities, the arts, and more!
Students have a competitive advantage when applying to colleges due to the level of rigor of the courses in the program, the internship experience, participation in research, and soft skills development. Students graduate with a minimum of seven college-level Advanced Placement courses and have the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit with dual enrollment.
The CHARGEnorth faculty offers the support students need to be successful, and includes blended teaching teams, a lab manager, and a program-specific counselor and assistant principal. CHARGEnorth’s counselor offers individual academic and socialemo-tional support, career and college counseling, and program-wide wellness initiatives.
Students have a range of unique opportunities and access to additional resources, including opportunities to hear from industry leaders in workshops and speaker series, learn from mentors, and gain experience through internships and entrepreneurial possibilities. Students have access to state-of-the-art technology and special-ized equipment, with needed support to pursue their passions and interests.
As researchers, CHARGEnorth students develop the skills that employers value, including communication, teamwork, time management, problem solving, and presentation skills.
