The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) provides a recognition system based on the Georgia Multi-Tiered System of Supports (GaMTSS) framework. This recognition integrates academics, behavior, and attendance into a single framework, reinforcing our commitment to the Whole Child and data-driven student support.
The GaMTSS framework is the same framework Gwinnett County Public Schools leverages to build strong Tier 1 schoolwide systems, with targeted Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports for students needing additional academic, behavioral, attendance, and wrap-around interventions.
Schools will be recognized based on behavior, attendance, and course performance, rather than PBIS implementation alone. Schools must complete the following to be considered for State Recognition:
School Fidelity Tool
Two times a year completed by school with a district facilitator.
Team Fidelity Tool
One time a year completed by a district facilitator
Walkthrough Form
One time a year
If schools complete the required components, they will then be awarded levels of implementation using the following rubric.
