Office of Instructional Development & Support
Mission and Vision of the Office of Instructional Development & Support
The mission of Gwinnett County Public Schools' Office of Instructional Development & Support is to support each and every school in implementing a comprehensive framework to fully operationalize a multi-tiered system of support to address academic student needs and remove barriers to success.
Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a whole-school, data-driven, prevention-based framework for improving learning outcomes for every student through a layered continuum of evidence-based practices and systems. RTI, or "Response to Intervention" falls under the umbrella of MTSS.
Office of Instructional Development & Support Objectives:
Identify academic and non-academic strengths, needs, and interests of each and every student to ensure whole learner, whole child focus.
Increase strategic alignment, accessibility, and impact of integrated student supports for students identified for tiered interventions, student response to highly effective instruction and researched-based interventions, and tutoring services.
Formalize the academic response to intervention (RTI) process to reduce variability and improve the fidelity of implementation across all schools and grade bands with appropriate researched based interventions and supports.
