This Week at DMS
Our Funshine Committee asked our amazing DMS new teachers to choose someone that has been their "marigold" as we have started the school year. Each grade level winner was celebrated at our grade level meeting today by hearing the reasons why they were a marigold and received a sweet treat from Crumbl cookie!
6th Grade: Mrs. Lockett
7th Grade: Ms. Willcox
8th Grade: Ms. M. Brown
Connections: Mrs. Mumpfield
Do you know what it means to be a "marigold"? Ask your child to explain how we're using this term and who has been a marigold for them.

8th Grade PSAT 8/9 Information
Accommodations on the PSAT™ 8/9 must be approved by College Board using the same process as for all other College Board assessments including AP exams. This year, a student and their parent/guardian will need to request accommodations directly. Visit How to Request Accommodations to learn more.
If your child receives accommodations through a 504 plan, IEP or ELLP (Multilingual Learners), please be sure to:
1. View this In-School Accommodations flyer (.pdf/627 KB) at your earliest convenience. PSAT 8/9 will be administered digitally on October 25th to all 8th graders.
2. Requests for accommodations on fall tests must be submitted by the deadlines below:
Deadline to Request Accommodations: September 5, 2023
PSAT 8/9 Testing Start Date: October 25, 2023
Students with a College Board–approved accommodation for extended time, extra breaks, or assistive technology will be able to try out their accommodation in the full-length adaptive practice test. They’ll have to select their accommodation for practice, but it will be applied to their exam automatically. Remember, accommodations on the digital PSAT 8/9 may be different from accommodations on the paper and pencil test. To learn more, visit Using Accommodations on Digital Tests.
All digital PSAT-related assessments are fully accessible, and student Chromebooks will work during the test. For more information about how accommodations will be provided for the digital PSAT 8/9, please visit our Assistive Technology webpage.
For more information about accommodations, visit the SSD website. For questions, contact Tasha Baumgardner, Dacula MS Assistant Principal responsible for assessments, at tasha.baumgardner@gcpsk12.org or 770-338-4647.
