I think my revision went pretty well, though I'm currently struggling with the surgical table (I'm not sure exactly what I want to add, like a sink or equipment, I will definitely have this figured out over break) and the anatomy of the rabbit, its shadow, and the overall fur and foreshortening of the gloves. However, I’m happy with some elements, like the face and the surgical clothing. I plan to touch up a few parts and might completely revise the entire piece again, possibly adding more elements over the break. I’m excited to bring back the final version. I do completely and wholeheartedly apologize that it's not as finished as it should be, I'm a complete fool who joined a trillion clubs this year and got overwhelmed. I will defintiely manage my time and work better this next upcoming AP art piece cycle.
Once again, my guiding question revolves around societal advances and their underlying costs. I was inspired by the first debate I witnessed at one of my speech and debate meetings about animal testing, and how far we've come in medical advancements at the cost of killing over 500,000 animals a year. I aimed for a 'sacrificial lamb' look, but my main critique is that I lost most of that element in this revision. I definitely need to touch up the fur and lighting and perhaps add an entirely new element to bring back the sacrificial theme during this break, hehe.
Anyways, my first speech and debate meeting was on Friday and Saturday, and it went surprisingly well! I didn’t actually perform that great within my debate since I was running off no sleep (My congress speech went nicely though!!), but I've improved a ton in my confidence and speaking ability compared to a year ago, so at least that worked out, and I'm excited to talk about the painting during critique time!!!
