Heart of a Hornet

The Heart of a Hornet Recognition program is designed to celebrate the above and beyond service that contributes to the relationships and success of our campus and university community.

You can recognize ESU faculty and staff who demonstrate exceptional dedication to our great institution. The purpose of Heart of a Hornet is to shine a spotlight on individuals or teams who have advanced our vision, "Changing lives for the common good," and exemplified our Core Values: Excellence, Respect, Responsibility and Service:

• With excellence, the university values intellectual challenges, problem solving, and creative and critical thinking.

• With respect, the university values integrity, collaboration, diversity, freedom of thought, freedom of inquiry, and freedom of expression.

Recognize someone for going above and beyond

This is your opportunity to recognize an ESU person or team exhibiting above and beyond service. Just complete the recognition form (ESU login required). All submissions are welcome and remember to be descriptive!

Heart of a Hornet recognition recipients may be publicly recognized on the Heart of a Hornet website, Hornet TV and will receive a digital graphic that can be shared on social media.

Those demonstrating exceptional above and beyond service excellence will receive additional special recognition.
