Biography

I currently serve as the Assistant Provost for Institutional Effectiveness at Emporia State University. I am a member of the Higher Learning Commission Peer Review Corp and ESU's HLC Accreditation Liaison Officer. I have worked in higher education for the majority of my professional career spanning 30+ years.

I hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education from the University of Kansas with an emphasis in Leadership and Policy Studies, a Master of Business Administration (Oklahoma City University) and a Bachelor of Business Administration (New Mexico State University). In 2013, I was appointed Assistant Provost for Institutional Research and Assessment and in 2017 responsibilities in strategic planning and accreditation were recognized as a part of my overall appointment.

With oversight for Institutional Effectiveness, I am able to pursue my passions for assessment, accreditation, research, and data analysis. The most fulfilling part of my job is collaborating with colleagues in all roles across the university. I especially enjoy research and accreditation collaborations! I'm designing this online learning platform to share assessment and research knowledge with others! Ultimately, my end goal is to help my colleagues, as we share our passions for teaching and learning. I see the exceptional learning environment we have for our students at ESU, and I dedicate every day to preserving academic excellence and perpetuating the improvement of student learning and success.

During my 30 years at Emporia State University, I've held appointments in three different operational units (Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Athletics) and in addition to my current role, I have served as a member of the Faculty, the Director of Institutional Research, the Director of Student Life Assessment, the Director of Recreation Services, and Head Softball Coach.

My hobbies include gardening, home DiY projects, learning about technologies, reading, and enjoying the outdoors!
