part-time jobs

All student jobs (on- and off-campus) and internships are available through your Handshake account. To find a job, simply log into your Handshake account using your ESU username and password.  Once inside, jobs can be sorted or filtered on a variety of criteria.

Click HERE to view our super easy video tutorial on applying for part-time jobs in Handshake.

For on-campus jobs, be sure to download, save, then complete the ESU Student Employment Application, save it again, and upload it to your profile as an "other" document. The ESU Student Employment Application is located in the Career Center – Resources section of Handshake. Some jobs may require you to upload additional documents such as a resume and class schedule, or to pick up a packet in that office, so be sure to read the job description for additional application information/processes.

Click here for instructions for searching and applying for jobs in Handshake, or contact Career Services at 620-341-5407 or career@emporia.edu with any questions. Some operating systems act differently with fillable PDF's so, if it clears during upload, please contact the ESU helpdesk at 620-341-5555 for solutions.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

The MBTI is for students who may wish to gain insight into their preferences for type of work, communication style, work environment, potential stressors, and areas of strength. While the MBTI can be completed online, a "Testing" appointment must be scheduled with a Career Counselor to receive and interpret results.

Career Thoughts Inventory (CTI)

The CTI can be helpful in identifying areas of decision-making confusion, commitment anxiety, and external sources of conflict. This is a paper-and-pencil assessment, and requires a Career Counseling appointment to administer and interpret.
