Savannah Shoutout
Weekly COmmunication for Savannah FAmilies
Aug. 28th, 2024
We are rocking and rolling on campus this week. Teachers are busy completing our beginning of year assessments and deep diving into learning. Kid are busy showing us what they know and growing their knowledge. Please read the information below to stay up-to-date with campus happenings.
Seventy-two Savannah students were late to school this morning. Please partner with us to get your beautiful kiddos in our building on time so that they can learn. We cannot instruct students who are not here.
Have we mentioned that we have a FANTASTIC PTA at Savannah?! Supporting our PTA can be as simple as paying the small dues fee ($13.50) and nothing more. Our PTA funds are used for cool events (like our Fall Festival and Winter Dance), programs, and resources for our school. Becoming a PTA member does not mean that you must be a super volunteer or take on extra tasks. We are always grateful for volunteers, but we are also grateful for families who are willing to contribute by just becoming members. Every dollar we collect enhances the school experience for all of our students. Anyone can join! (Even Mrs. Hawkins' husband and parents have joined!) Visit joinpta.org to partner with us.
Being safe, kind, and ready to learn is Savannah's school mission. To help with this effort we are kicking off Behavior Academies next week. These are student small groups led by Mrs. Chapman that will help reinforce important school skills like kindness, self-control, and emotional regulation. We will offer these academies throughout the school year so that our Gators are truly "ready to learn" each day.
